Favorite color is black

Tomorrow is my orientation!  Where did the time go?  I hope the next 20 months fly by and before I know it I'll be getting my degree handed to me and I can check yet another accomplishment off my bucket list.  I am really going to savor Thursday, Friday and Saturday night because going forward who knows what kind of homework I will have or what sleep I'll need to catch up on.  Since I get off work at 4:30 I'm wondering if when I start on Monday if going forward I should even bother going home or just go straight to campus since class is from 6-10 Mon-Fri, but that leaves my cats alone from 7:15 a.m. until I get home at 10:15 p.m. when I say it like that it sounds exhausting, but I know I'll get used to it, just hope it's sooner rather than later.  I'll just have to try to go straight to bed when I get home and not eat or watch tv and just enjoy the 8 hour sleep nights on the weekend.  There is a reason people should go to school when they're younger!

Beds and backs

I solemnly swear to never try to flip my mattress by myself without supervision.  I hurt my back because I wasn't careful or paying attention to what I was doing and I've been in unspeakable pain all day.  I am such a clutzy dork!  Lol. So it's a short week this week and Thursday morning I go in late due to 8-12 orientation and we are closed Friday so I have my holiday plan:  three nights and three days to read recreationally until school starts Monday.  My last homework free weekend and I plan to savor every page!  What're you doing next weekend?

Teppanyaki Grill!

My mom used to take me to Benihana's and I always dreamed I'd have a teppanaki grill in my home, it adds a sense of gravitas to your entertaining.  I don't understand people who just cook to eat in order to survive, shopping with someone and going home and playing in the kitchen and cooking together and then sitting down to eat and talk about the meal is a whole "thing" I wouldn't trade for the world.  I know when I have my own child I am going to get him/her involved in cooking very early on, I truly believe the kitchen is the heart of the home.  I know it's my happy place!

Letters

I received my official school letter to remind me of orientation next Thursday morning and they're serving us breakfast from 8-9 and then a tour and we get our chef knives, our chef coats, hats, and shoes they measured us for when we enrolled initially, and a new iPad with our books pre-loaded on it.  I am so excited you guys, I haven't stepped foot in a classroom since 1992 and very little time even then.  Here was my thinking:

Santa Cruz or class?

Duh!  As if!  No Contest BEACH!!

As I walked across the stage at my graduation I shook my head and thought, "how on Earth did I pull this off"?  This time things will be different, I will treasure my time in class and really make the most of this opportunity because I know how fortunate I am to be pursuing my dream and learning more about my passion; and that is priceless.

Have you been to a drive-in lately? I think that is going to be on my agenda this weekend; it's been a minute.

How'd I almost miss this?

I think I need another last minute already.

Thank you B!
