First of all this is NOT a representation of any starving artists, this is sweatshop machine runners running a canvas line, and a piss poor one at that. There was not one had painted work in that tiny little banquet room at the Wyndham hotel yesterday. It was awful! First of all the smell of the cheap oleo paint literally made your eyes water and second the paintings were terrible, I wouldn't have given $5.00 for one of their "couch size" paintings! If you aren't familiar with machine paintings it literally is a painting no human hand has actually touched, now Thomas Kinkade invented this process in San Jose, California but his stuff was done professionally by high priced equipment and steady hands; and for the higher priced pieces it meant that a human had merely brushed one stroke onto the canvas but the machine did the rest, a studio canvas meant Thomas himself had brushed a stroke, an original means he did it himself. This stuff yesterday fell off a truck, and should have been left in the ditch it fell in. Bottom line, skip it.
My upstairs neighbor has a leak in his bathroom and we share a common wet wall and so my bathroom walls are damaged and mold is starting to grow so my complex will try to fix it today, but I looked around my windows and the same thing is occurring there as well. I think I'm going to look at the three new complexes in Owasso, because I am just not loving the direction my complex has taken, at all! I try to keep the area around my building clean and picked up but no one else seems to care, it's very disheartening. I don't want to move, but what choice will I have if nothing changes and the place falls apart?
So happy for you Sam. Glad you are moving on to better things and places. Hope you will enjoy your new place, looks really nice!
